Hosting keeps the server healthy. Platform Care keeps the website healthy.
Hosting and the website running on it are two different things. A site can sit on perfectly healthy infrastructure and still drift into trouble: a Craft CMS upgrade goes uninstalled for too long, a plugin's vulnerability gets exploited, content edits accumulate without anyone validating performance impact, a third-party integration breaks silently. Platform Care exists for the work above the server line.
It is the parts of a live website that need ongoing attention from people who understand what is running and why.
What Platform Care covers
Updates and patching
Craft CMS, plugins, themes, libraries, and dependencies updated on a defined cadence. Critical security patches applied promptly; non-critical updates batched and tested on staging before reaching production.
Security monitoring
Vulnerability scanning, file integrity monitoring, login security, SSL certificate validity, and Content Security Policy alignment.
Backups, verified
Daily backups of database and assets are standard. Restore drills confirm they actually work; backups that have never been tested are not backups.
Content and small changes
Copy edits, image swaps, page additions, small layout tweaks, form changes, and the daily one-off requests that would otherwise become a queue of nothing-emails to your developer.
Integration health
CRM, marketing automation, analytics, payment, and other connected tools watched for silent failures.
Incident response
When something needs human attention, the support team responds within the response window defined for your tier and is already familiar with your platform.
Three tiers
Care
Care
The baseline tier. Updates, security patches, backups, monitoring, and reactive support for sites that are stable, not heavily edited, and not business-critical. The right tier for sites where the goal is "keep it healthy and out of trouble" without active development.
Standard
Standard
Updates and patching, plus regular included hours for small changes, content edits, and minor optimizations. Faster response. The right tier for active marketing sites and brand-presence platforms where small changes happen routinely and someone needs to be on the other end of a request.
Premium
Premium
Standard coverage with priority response, more included hours, deeper monitoring, and proactive optimization work. The right tier for business-critical websites and applications where speed of response matters and the work above the server line is meaningful every month.
Work beyond a tier's included hours is billed at an agreed hourly rate. Tier moves happen freely as the platform's needs evolve.
How Platform Care integrates with Managed Hosting
Platform Care is most effective when paired with Managed Hosting because the team running the server is the same team running the application. Update compatibility gets validated in controlled environments. Performance and security optimizations get applied consistently across both layers. Responsibility boundaries are clear, so when an issue surfaces, nobody is debating who owns it.
We can also provide Platform Care on websites hosted elsewhere. In those cases, we run a compatibility review at engagement start, document any constraints, and adjust the scope where the host's setup limits what we can do.
What Platform Care is, and is not
01
Platform Care is:
A managed service covering the live website, not just the server underneath it
Proactive, driven by a schedule, not by client tickets
Run by people who know your platform (in many cases, our team built it)
A relationship, not a hands-off contract
02
Platform Care is not:
A development engagement (new features, redesigns, migrations live under Web Development)
Emergency-only or break-fix-only support
A way to keep an unsupported, end-of-life CMS running indefinitely
Frequently Asked Questions on Our Website Maintenance Services
Platform Care is Convergine's site-level managed service. It covers ongoing care of the CMS, plugins, themes, integrations, and content layer of a live website. It is sold separately from Managed Hosting and offered in three tiers: Care, Standard, and Premium.
Managed Hosting covers the server and infrastructure layer: the operating system, web server, database, security hardening, and the underlying cloud environment. Platform Care covers everything above the server line: the CMS, plugins, themes, content, and application-layer integrations. Most clients engage both because problems can originate at either layer.
For most active websites, yes. Hosting will not patch your CMS plugins, edit your content, or test a Craft upgrade on staging before it touches production. Those are application-layer concerns that Platform Care addresses. If your site is truly static and rarely changes, the basic Care tier may be enough on its own.
Overage is billed at an agreed hourly rate. If overage becomes routine, we will recommend moving to a higher tier rather than letting hourly billing creep up. Tier moves are easy.
