The objective of the Department of Economic Growth, Culture and Entrepreneurship's new website was to foster economic growth, promote cultural initiatives, and support entrepreneurship in the City of Markham. The website aimed to serve as a comprehensive platform, providing valuable resources and event information in a user-friendly manner to attract potential investors, entrepreneurs, artists, cultural organizations, and community members interested in the region's economic and cultural development.

To address the limitations of the previous section on the markham.ca site, we designed a new website that embodied a modern, user-friendly design while adhering to the city of Markham's guidelines and economic development department's identity. The website presented ever-growing data in an easy-to-read, shareable, and printable format while ensuring accessibility requirements were met. The UI focused on showcasing economic opportunities, cultural events, and entrepreneurship support in a convenient and efficient manner, making it stand out as a hub for economic and cultural development.

In the website design process, we engaged in comprehensive discussions with the Department of Economic Growth, Culture and Entrepreneurship to understand their goals, target audience, and specific requirements. Wireframes, UI, and content development were meticulously crafted to provide a seamless user experience. The web development, powered by Craft CMS, offered great flexibility, user-friendliness, and scalability. To meet modern standards, we ensured accessibility, content management, mobile friendliness, search engine optimization, security, and analytics were all integrated into the website.

As part of the website's functionality, we integrated Eventbrite, a popular event management and ticketing platform. This seamless integration allowed the department to showcase and manage cultural events effortlessly on the website. Moreover, data visualization techniques were employed to present complex economic data, cultural event details, and entrepreneurship opportunities in an understandable format, enhancing the website's accessibility and appeal.
