Website Security and Maintenance — Protection That Does Not Sleep
Platform Care is Convergine's site-level managed service. It covers the parts of a live website that need active care: CMS and plugin updates tested before deployment, security patches on a defined cadence, content edits and small changes, verified backups, and a support team that answers when something matters. Sold separately from Managed Hosting, in three tiers matched to how active the site is and how quickly issues need attention.
Hosting keeps the server healthy. Platform Care keeps the website healthy.
Hosting and the website running on it are two different things. A site can sit on perfectly healthy infrastructure and still drift into trouble: a Craft CMS upgrade goes uninstalled for too long, a plugin vulnerability gets exploited, content edits accumulate with nobody validating the performance impact, a third-party integration breaks silently.
Platform Care exists for the work above the server line — the parts of a live website that need ongoing attention from people who understand what is running and why.
- CMS and plugin versions falling behind their security patches
- Backups nobody has ever tested a restore from
- Integrations failing quietly with no alert
- A queue of small change requests with no owner
What you are actually buying
- A managed service covering the live website, not just the server underneath it
- Proactive work driven by a schedule rather than by your tickets
- Updates tested on staging before they touch production
- Daily backups with restore drills that prove they work
- Included hours for content edits and small changes, scaled to your tier
- A team that knows your platform — in many cases because we built it
- A compatibility review up front if the site is hosted elsewhere
- Development engagements — new features, redesigns and migrations live under Web Development
- Emergency-only or break-fix-only support
- Keeping an unsupported, end-of-life CMS running indefinitely
Matched to how active the site is
Work beyond a tier's included hours is billed at an agreed hourly rate, and tier moves happen freely as the platform's needs evolve.

Care
Stable sites, light editing
The baseline tier. Updates, security patches, backups, monitoring and reactive support for sites that are stable, not heavily edited, and not business-critical. The right tier where the goal is keeping the site healthy and out of trouble without active development.

Standard
Active marketing sites
Updates and patching plus regular included hours for small changes, content edits and minor optimizations, with faster response. The right tier for active marketing and brand-presence platforms where small changes happen routinely and someone needs to be on the other end of a request.

Premium
Business-critical platforms
Standard coverage with priority response, more included hours, deeper monitoring and proactive optimization work. The right tier for business-critical websites and applications where speed of response matters and the work above the server line is meaningful every month.
Six areas above the server line
Updates and patching
Craft CMS, plugins, themes, libraries and dependencies updated on a defined cadence. Critical security patches applied promptly; non-critical updates batched and tested on staging before they reach production.
Security monitoring
Vulnerability scanning, file integrity monitoring, login security, SSL certificate validity, and Content Security Policy alignment.
Backups, verified
Daily backups of database and assets as standard, with restore drills that confirm they work. Backups that have never been tested are not backups.
Content and small changes
Copy edits, image swaps, page additions, small layout tweaks and form changes — the daily one-off requests that would otherwise become a queue of nothing-emails to your developer.
Integration health
CRM, marketing automation, analytics, payment and other connected tools watched for silent failures.
Incident response
When something needs human attention, the support team responds within your tier's window and is already familiar with your platform.
Platform Care, and where it draws its lines
Scheduled over reactive
The cadence is the product. A service that only moves when you notice something is a cheaper, different thing than this.
Tested before production
Non-critical updates are batched and validated on staging. The alternative is finding out on the live site.
Paired with hosting where possible
Platform Care is most effective alongside Managed Hosting, because the team running the server is the team running the application, and nobody debates who owns an issue.
Honest about other hosts
We provide Platform Care on sites hosted elsewhere, but we run a compatibility review first and document what the host's setup prevents us from doing.
Frequently asked questions
Platform Care is Convergine's site-level managed service. It covers ongoing care of the CMS, plugins, themes, integrations and content layer of a live website. It is sold separately from Managed Hosting and offered in three tiers: Care, Standard and Premium.
Managed Hosting covers the server and infrastructure layer: operating system, web server, database, security hardening and the underlying cloud environment. Platform Care covers everything above the server line: the CMS, plugins, themes, content and application-layer integrations. Most clients engage both, because problems can originate at either layer.
For most active websites, yes. Hosting will not patch your CMS plugins, edit your content, or test a Craft upgrade on staging before it touches production. Those are application-layer concerns. If your site is genuinely static and rarely changes, the baseline Care tier may be enough on its own.
Yes. We start with a compatibility review to understand the hosting environment and the constraints it places on the work. Some hosts limit what is possible — no SSH access, restricted PHP versions, no staging environment — and we document those limits at engagement start and adjust the scope accordingly.
Overage is billed at an agreed hourly rate. If overage becomes routine we will recommend moving up a tier rather than letting hourly billing creep. Tier moves are easy and happen freely as the platform's needs change.
Copy edits, image swaps, page additions, small layout tweaks, form changes, and the one-off requests that otherwise pile up as a queue of nothing-emails to a developer. Anything that amounts to new features, a redesign or a migration is development work and lives under a different engagement.
Your website deserves better than neglect
A properly maintained website is more secure, performs better, ranks better and costs less to manage over time than one left alone until something breaks. Platform Care covers the application layer; Managed Hosting covers the server beneath it.
