E-Commerce website design for CCTV Direct
CCTV Direct is a B2B wholesale platform for security installers and system integrators working with complex, spec-driven products and repeat orders.
The goal of the project was to design a fast, predictable, and scalable professional tool rather than a traditional retail storefront.
Research & Problem Identification
The project began with research focused on understanding how professional users interact with a B2B wholesale platform and where friction occurs during everyday tasks. Through analysis of existing user flows and interface patterns, several core problems were identified.
Key findings from research:
- Product discovery was slow in large, spec-heavy catalogs
- Technical information was difficult to scan and compare
- Wholesale pricing access was unclear and poorly explained
- Checkout flows were not optimized for repeat professional orders
Prototyping & Validation
Based on the research insights, low- and mid-fidelity prototypes were created to validate structure, hierarchy, and core user flows before moving into final UI design.
Prototypes were used to test:
- Homepage focus and primary entry points
- Product discovery and catalog layouts
- Product detail structure and specification hierarchy
- Evaluated the homepage as an entry point for value communication and navigation
- Collected and structured insights to inform UX decisions before design
